Van Ber is an electronic singer-songwriter with a foundation in classical piano. Wistful keyboards and vulnerable vocals guide listeners through glitching nostalgic soundscapes. His use of synthesizer, acoustic and DAW elements embrace a modern movement. Van Ber lives in Vancouver, B.C.

What We Embrace//

Folk/Americana duo What We Embrace tell stories. Some triumphant, some less so. Husband and wife duo Lindalouise and Dougie blend their voices to create a rich vocal sound that will steep your soul in nostalgia and then break your heart. They make music for the dreamers, the broken and the yet to be found. Their story is one of packing their lives into two suitcases, moving halfway across the world for one dream that then became two. We often find ourselves in moments quite unexpected and we find then, we are all what we embrace. Songwriter Lindalouise Greig relocated to Canada with highlights including The Robert Burns Award for Performance in 2007 and The UWS x Centre for Contemporary Art Scotland’s, Willie Strachan Creativity Award, 2009 for dance theatre piece “Duplicity”. Lindalouise was compelled to write poems looking out at the view of the Fraser river and Mount Baker. Those poems would become songs. Songwriter and Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) nominated Dougie Greig blends heartfelt lyrics with soaring melodies. An old heart Dougie cut his teeth playing in bands in Europe. Dougie has returned to his songwriting roots finding fresh inspiration in his relocation to Canada with What We Embrace and his solo career. Dougie has gained an endorsement with Godin Guitars in Canada as one of their new artists. They recently showcased at Folk Alliance, Folk Unlocked 2021.Scottish born What We Embrace are proud to be new Canadians. They are currently in the studio working on their debut single with a debut EP to follow in late 2021.

Theatre kid turned folk-rocker, Jaron Chidiac, is gearing up to take the West Coast folk scene by storm. His classically trained, soul-drenched voice is a melodic force of nature, gliding effortlessly between poetic and gentle with a storm of rasp. The songs themselves are impressive compositions supplementing Jaron’s powerhouse vocal performances. For just a man and his guitar, he encompasses the unique capacity to fill the space in your ears and soul.

Born and raised in Prince George, Jaron took to musical theatre early in life and gained extensive stage experience with the Excalibur Theatre Company. After nearly a decade of performing, he bought his first guitar fresh out of high school and moved to Victoria a couple years after. He continued to act and play, and he quickly became a regular on the local open mic circuit. 

Three years into living in Victoria, out of work and on a whim, Jaron moved to Vancouver. His experience in the theatre and playing the open mics gave him newfound confidence and set the stage for his entrance into the Vancouver scene. Shortly after moving, Jaron found himself in his first professional studio, where he would go on to meet his future bandmates in Belcarra. With Belcarra, Jaron recorded another EP, toured and became finalists in the Best In Vancouver, performing alongside the likes of Hey Ocean and The Brevet. 

Jaron recently recorded his first solo EP at legendary Warehouse Studios. His first single, Sun Wolf, was released in October 2019, with the rest of the EP coming in 2020. Keep an eye out for this Canadiana songbird as he will soon be imprinting you with his ferocious talent.
