Mission Coffee House Concert Series is pleased to present the angelic harmonies of the Morning Glories (formerly the Uppa Tones), Saturday April 12, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the acoustically renowned Clarke Theatre Cafetorium, located at 33700 Prentis Ave in beautiful Mission BC Canada.
Morning Glories is a Canadian harmony folk trio known for their dreamy harmonies and intimate performances. Rooted in tradition and alive with new energy, they create original music inspired by the magic of nature and their experiences as mothers, daughters, sisters, and lovers.
Performing primarily a cappella, Morning Glories showcase the power of the human body: They perform in a minimalistic style, using their voices alone, accompanied only by an organic rhythm of stomps, snaps, and claps. Occasionally, they add ukulele, guitar, or percussion, always in a way that enhances their intricate harmonies. A vintage-style microphone captures the warmth of their vocals and instrumentation, creating a uniquely immersive and connected performance.
Melinda, Kailee, and Candice first began singing together in 2017, filling summers with music during the choral off-season. In 2022, they officially formed a trio, performing as The UppaTones until 2024—a nod to their all-soprano lineup and their tendency to bring nearly every song up a tone.
In 2025, they embraced the name Morning Glories, inspired by their original song Morning Glory:
"The branches climb, holding stories as they weave and they wind, giving root to the blossoms entwined around the morning glory."
Whether singing in a cozy living room, on a festival stage, or bringing holiday cheer at winter events, Morning Glories create a musical experience that lingers long after the last note fades.
